The Big Ten

Wow! Jorgen and I have been married for 10 years! It just seemed like yesterday when we started dating. Heather seemed to be more ecstatic than both of us combined! After one mention of the date of our anniversary and she engraved it to memory. Before the end of last month, she kept hinting at our anniversary. This sure means a lot to her as it does to us. Children just have a way of expressing their happiness very freely and have a good sense what is very meaningful in our lives.

Eleven years ago at Splash Mountain, DisneyWorld, Orlando

Eleven years later at Splash Mountain, Disneyland, Anaheim (can you spot Heather?)

Jorgen and I certainly wore our same "eeeeeee" expressions in both situations!

We had a quiet dinner at home and Heather asked very politely, "Can I sing you and Dad a song?" She acted as if this meant not only so much for us, but for her.

She stood between Jorgen and I and sung from her heart, "Happy Anniversary to you. Happy Anniversary to you...I'm singing this song for you..." I nearly cried because I have never heard her sing this way before from the heart and in a melody that seemed to be well-rehearsed, reminiscent of Elton's "Your Song", one of my all-time favorites. I held back the tears, otherwise I would not be able to stop if I started.

I asked her if she wrote the song herself and she proudly said "Yes".

This was the most memorable and BEST anniversary present that my husband and I received. Heather, WE LOVE YOU!
